Christelle Desangles and her stunning space art first came to my attention in 2017 when I saw pictures from an exhibit she was holding in this amazing old stone church in France. At first I was in awe of the combination of beautiful depth and color and large format I was seeing in her paintings, and then that awe shifted focus to the wonderful contrast between the old stone wall setting and her magnificent presentation of the colors of our universe. I felt like I was traveling through both the history of the church and the wonders of the wide expanse of our universe as I scrolled through the images of the exhibition. Since that introduction, I continue to marvel at Christelle’s talent and look forward to every new cosmic creation she shares with us.

Christelle Desangles et son extraordinaire art de l’espace ont tout d'abord attiré mon attention en 2017, quand j'ai vu les photos d'une exposition qu'elle tenait dans cette magnifique vieille église française en pierre. Dès le premier
regard, j'étais impressionnée par une si belle combinaison de profondeur, de couleur, de grand format, que je voyais transparaître dans ses peintures Et puis, ce contraste merveilleux entre le cadre de ces veilles pierres et sa magnifique représentation des couleurs de notre univers. J’avais l'impression de voyager à travers l'histoire de l'église, mais aussi à travers les merveilles de la vaste étendue de notre univers, tandis que je faisais défiler les images de cette exposition. Depuis cette rencontre, je continue à m'émerveiller du talent de Christelle et j'attends avec impatience chaque nouvelle création cosmique qu'elle partagera avec nous.

Christelle could not have chosen a better name for her exhibitions, " Voyage to the Colors of the Universe ". It says everything
all-encompassing of her stupendous artwork, her desire for viewers’ experiences, the cause, and the reaction. The moment your eyes behold her paintings, the rich, vibrant, and dynamic colors jump out as if an illustrious tidal wave has pleasantly splashed upon you. Her ideal blending of lovely tones, use of various shades and gradations of a central color, or unexpected yet ideal mix of hues all fuse together to generate such remarkably appealing space-scapes. You cannot help but wonder if, or crave, her world exists in the depths of outer space ... and whether it does or not, you feel drawn to it, into it, around it, through it. The longer you gaze, the more you desire to explore, bask, hover, and swim through her nebulae ... and that pull is ever powerful, dare I say seductive?
By naturally indulging in this dreamy sojourn, you will have made Christelle’s mission accomplished. She is sated knowing admirers fly freely and willingly into the mystique she creates ... by her own mind, heart, fingers, brush, paint. Christelle obviously has a deep affinity and attraction to these faraway realms. One who gravitates to glance upward nightly at constellations from an early age, as did she, forms a cathartic connection. Over time, that yearning manifests in a magical way that must be expressed outwardly and distinctly, and for this self-taught artist, she struck galactic gold. Christelle’s stunning space abstracts, whether large, small, horizontal, vertical, are the crowning result of her pleasantly inescapable conjoining with infinite arrays of stars .. and stars she avails to ensure these twinkling bits of light invite and accompany us to carry our fancy flights where no human has ever traveled.
As one who has always been drawn to all-things space, I’ve longed to experience spaceflight, weightlessness, exploration, close contact with the heavens. Christelle’s artwork has invariably triggered a range of sensory-type reactions, and a means of being transported into this delicious sk’eye-candy domain. I can’t help but feel as though I’ve been given a golden ticket for a privileged personal close-up tour inside her enchanting nebulae. With her paintings, I feel as if my breath is being taken away, in the best way possible, from awe and beauty conjured in Christelle’s imagination and thankfully transferred to her own cosmos on canvas. As part of her unique talent, there is also a particular unspoken aspect that one day shall be revealed to admirkers, and will astonish everyone.
So grateful for Christelle, a deep, caring, sensitive, thoughtful, attentive soul, and her artwork. Suffice to say, these compassionate traits fused with her inspirational feelings flow through each stroke. I love how proverbial rocket fuel comprising stimulating musical compositions propels her passion while she paints. So romantic. Ironically, our friendship began by her feeling quite inspired by my sharing of extraordinary imagery from Hubble Space Telescope, NASA, ESA, etc. How timely tables turned. Now tis I who is awestruck by original gorgeous renderings of her very own artistic acumen, always in great anticipation of what new impressive concoction shall be born from her one-of-a-kind craft. In each page, enjoy the honor of ascending into the cosmic colors of Christelle’s universe...

stupéfiante création artistique, son désir de l’'expérience partagée avec le spectateur, de la cause et la réaction. Dès l’instant où vos yeux se posent sur ses peintures, des couleurs riches, vibrantes et dynamiques bondissent, comme si un maelström d’images vous éclaboussait assez délicieusement. Son mélange idéal de tons chaleureux, l'utilisation de diverses nuances et dégradés à partir d'une couleur centrale, ou bien un mélange inattendu mais si parfait à partir d’autres teintes, se fondent tous ensemble pour générer des paysages cosmiques inévitablement attrayants. Vous vous sentez obligé de vous demander, voir d’espérer, que son monde existe dans les profondeurs de l'espace. Que ce soit le cas ou non, vous vous sentez attiré par lui, vers ses recoins, ses profondeurs. Plus vous contemplez son travail, plus vous surprenez à explorer, vagabonder, vous insinuer au cœur de ces nébuleuses ... Cette attraction est toujours si puissante, oserais-je dire séduisante?
En vous laissant aller à ces moments de rêverie, vous ne ferez qu'accomplir le souhait de Christelle, heureuse à l’'idée de savoir que nous évoluons librement dans cette dimension mystique qu'elle a su projeter hors de son esprit et son coeur, par ses doigts, ses brosses et ses couleurs. Christelle partage une profonde affinité, une attirance pour ces royaumes lointains. Ceux qui, comme elle, gravitent dès leur plus jeune âge si haut et si loin chaque soir, vers les constellations, ne connaissent que trop bien cette connexion mystique. Au fil du temps, le besoin se fait sentir d’exprimer ce lien, et pour cet artiste autodidacte, de toucher du doigt toutes ces merveilles galactiques. Les superbes évocations de Christelle, qu'ils soient grands, petits, horizontaux, verticaux, sont le couronnement d'une conjonction inéluctable et lumineuse avec des rangées infinies d’étoiles. Des étoiles qu'elle magnifie, pour faire en sorte que ces petites lumières scintillantes nous attirent de leur bienveillance, et nous accompagnent là où aucun humain n'a jamais voyagé.
Comme toute personne qui a toujours été attiré par l'espace et tout ses aspects, j'ai toujours rêvé d'expérimenter le vol spatial, l'apesanteur, l'exploration, le contact étroit avec les cieux. L'œuvre de Christelle a invariablement déclenché chez moi une série de réactions sensorielles, un moyen d'être transporté d’une manière inattendue et inespéré dans cet univers. Je ne peux m'empêcher de me sentir comme celui qui a reçu un ticket gagnant pour une visite privilégiée, au milieu de nébuleuses enchanteresses. Avec ses peintures, j'ai l'impression d’avoir le souffle coupé, devant le choc et la beauté évoqués par l'imagination de Christelle, et transcrits avec bonheur sur la toile. Dans le cadre de son talent unique, il y a aussi un aspect particulier non-dit, qui sera un jour révélé aux admirateurs et qui étonnera tout le monde.
Je suis si reconnaissant à Christelle, une âme profonde, attentionnée, sensible et attentive, ainsi qu’à ses œuvres. Inutile de préciser que ces traits de caractère nourrissent son inspiration, et transparaissent au travers de chaque tableau. J'adore la façon dont un proverbial " carburant de fusée" , en partie nourri d’inspirations musicales, propulse sa passion tandis qu'elle peint. C’est si romantique. Ironiquement, notre amitié a commencé quand elle s’est sentie inspirée par mon partage des extraordinaires images du télescope spatial Hubble, de la NASA, de l'ESA, etc. Maintenant, c'est moi qui suis émerveillé par les rendus magnifiques nés de sa main, et je suis toujours impatient de découvrir quelle nouvelle concoction naîtra de son savoir-faire particulièrement unique. Page après page, appréciez comme il se doit l’honneur de cette ascension, au sein des couleurs cosmiques de l'univers de Christelle ...
